FAQ
Gateway Canyons is not an all-inclusive resort. Adventures are booked à la carte through the on-site Adventure Center, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which runs guided UTV and Jeep off-road touring, horseback trail rides from the property’s stables, canyon hiking and climbing, and mountain biking on the Uncompahgre Plateau. The team also arranges excursions to nearby national parks, including Arches, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, and Colorado National Monument. Because you pick the activities that fit your trip, a group can shape its own balance of adventure and downtime across a stay. Seasonal packages are available when you book direct at gatewaycanyons.com.
Everything runs through the Adventure Center, open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. That is where you book Jeep and UTV tours, arrange archery, rent a mountain bike and pick up a hiking or biking trail. It also holds a small museum covering the area’s early settlers and its wildlife. Current offerings and pricing are published in the activity list linked from this page, some activities carry a minimum age, and the concierge team will take your plan by email before you arrive. Expert-led hiking tours go into the surrounding canyons and the high desert Ponderosa pine forests.
Yes. Guided trail rides leave from Palisade Ranch, the resort’s own stables, and follow the country that ranching families worked in the 1800s while they supplied the region’s mining communities. Rides are booked through the Adventure Center alongside the rest of the activity calendar, and some activities carry a minimum age, so tell the concierge who is riding when you book. Riding is one program among several here rather than the shape of the whole stay, which is the practical difference between Gateway Canyons and a Colorado guest ranch.
The Adventure Center is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and books off-road touring, horseback riding, hiking and climbing, mountain biking and archery à la carte rather than bundling them into a rate. It is the booking hub for every guided activity at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, in Unaweep Canyon in Western Colorado, and it is where guests arrange the off-road, riding, hiking and national park programs that the surrounding canyon country supports.
