No. Gateway Canyons is a luxury adventure resort with riding stables on property, not a dude ranch. Guided horseback rides leave from those stables and run through Unaweep Canyon, but they sit alongside UTV and Jeep touring, canyon hiking and climbing, mountain biking and national park excursions rather than anchoring the whole stay. Accommodations are resort format across 72 rooms in Kiva Lodge, Kayenta Lodge and the freestanding Casitas, with a full-service spa, two pools and Paradox Grille on site. If a cattle-and-corral week is what you are after, a Colorado guest ranch is the better booking.

Every Casita has its own outdoor space. The one-bedroom Casitas run about 860 to 890 square feet with a private deck or patio and a fire pit, a stone tile outdoor shower, and a five-fixture bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub. Hacienda Casitas add a second bathroom and vaulted open-beam ceilings at about 1,180 to 1,220 square feet. Stargazer Casitas add an upstairs den and a gazing deck with open views of the night sky, and the Signature Stargazer and Two-Bedroom Unaweep Casitas add a private outdoor hot tub. There are 14 Casitas among the resort’s 72 rooms.
