Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa Appoints Jocelyn Farmer as Spa Director

GATEWAY, Colo. (September 27, 2017) – Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, a luxurious world-class destination in the heart of the American West, today announced the appointment of Jocelyn Farmer as spa director of The Spa at Gateway Canyons, the property’s full-service spa. Farmer joins the Western resort with a wealth of experience in the spa and hospitality industry, including several successful management positions.

“Jocelyn will make a great addition to our esteemed staff at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa as the director of the resort’s spa team,” said Stephen Johnson, general manager of Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa. “Her extensive background in luxury spas will enhance the various treatments and provide a valuable resource for the spa therapists and attendants.”

After earning a bachelor’s degree in travel and tourism management with a minor in hotel and lodging from Florida International University, Farmer began her career as a spa concierge at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Miami, Florida. She was then promoted to retail supervisor and again to spa operations manager, building a team of 35-40 employees and managing daily operations, profitability, and the spa’s treatment product inventory.

Bringing her skills to the Caribbean, Farmer then served as a spa consultant for ESPA at the Baha Mar hotel in the Bahamas, assisting the general manager and the finance and IT teams. Prior to joining The Spa team at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, Farmer thrived at Acqualina Resort & Spa as assistant spa director and then as spa director. Among her various management responsibilities, she supervised and coached spa therapists and attendants and oversaw the spa’s marketing initiatives.

The Spa at Gateway Canyons, which was completely renovated and re-opened in 2015, offers guests a rejuvenating respite after a long day of exploring and conquering rugged terrain. From soothing massages and indulgent facials to body treatments and a full salon, The Spa at Gateway Canyons encourages guests to rest, relax and soothe sore muscles. Signature treatments include the Gateway Canyons Signature Facial, which uses the latest technology to repair and restore damaged skin, and the Blooming Cactus Body Ritual, which features a “stimulating prickly pear cactus” gel wrap followed by a relaxing scalp or foot therapy massage.

Located in the spectacular red rock canyons of western Colorado, Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa caters to the most discerning traveler with 72 luxury guest rooms and suites, including 14 private casitas. The property delights guests with savory dining options at Entrada Restaurant, wellness-focused treatments at The Spa at Gateway Canyons, canyon air tours and trips aboard a luxury helicopter, privileged access to more than 100 years of automotive history and design at the Gateway Canyons Auto Museum, and a variety of self-selected experiential activities offered through the on-site Adventure Center and Driven Experiences programs.
